I recently was faced with something that I committed to do, but was beginning to regret taking it on for lots of reasons, and this was becoming stressful.
Given that I promised to do it, and “we are where we are”, I decided to try the following exercise…
– What outcomes do I want from the task?
– What could stop those outcomes being achieved, and what can I do about them?
– What can I do to help the outcome be achieved?
It helped me to realise that there are always things we can do to improve a difficult situation – but I think I’ll know better next time!
