I always loved those “join-the-dots” books as a child – even when they weren’t numbered – you just had to work them out for yourself, so anything could emerge!
Just like working with teams really.
I’ve recently had the privilege to work with a talented brand designer Aisling Griffin, at TreetopStudio.ie – and the new brand mark that she’s designed feels like she knew, better than I did myself, how I wanted to represent the work that I do with leaders and teams.
My work has always been about establishing connections and developing relationships – her design to me represents
- The leader at the core of the team – connected to themselves and still part of the whole
- The different team members represented by dots – not necessarily straight lines between all of them but they all have a strong connection – relationships can be complicated, right?
- Each dot or person has some white space around them – the ability to stay centred and to have necessary boundaries between themselves and the rest of the team.
- They are all part of a constellation or a system – anything that affects one part will have an impact on the whole.
I also see a question mark on the right side of the logo – most of our work as coaches is based on asking leaders and teams the right questions at the right time, and helping them to listen for the answer.
If you’re wondering why it’s purple, well anyone who knows me knows I’m from Wexford in Ireland – our county colours are purple and gold. But purple is also the combination of cool blue and fiery red energies – and associated with royalty, luxury, creativity, imagination and transformation. I’m not sure about the luxury or royalty, but sounds about right.
So, celebrating ten years in business this year with a brand update, I’m looking forward to continuing to work with leaders who want to build great teams, or teams going through change, to help them “join the dots” and connect, communicate and collaborate better. If this sounds like you or your team,
do get in touch!
“You can‘t connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something: your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.” Steve Jobs
